Would love to see ground clutter suppression (i.e., "QC Reflectivity" on GREarth) on Maps.
Loving it so far...but "cleaning up" the radar display would be a major plus.

Ryan Hickman Excellent suggestion. We currently make use of Iowa State's public mosaic. This is generated via GEMPAK and distributed through IEM's FTP servers. The quality on this product has proved to be quite good.
Last week we noticed the lack of Puerto Rican radar data. Obviously this is something that we at AllisonHouse have and should include in the mosaic, regardless of the amount of "transparent" latitude that will appear South of the Southern CONUS. We have crafted a technique for generating this mosaic with QC to reduce clutter. We use QC because simply excluding Clear-Air radars can/will result in boundaries missing entirely from the display.
I'll have an update on our progress by early next week. PTYPE would also be the next logical step.

Ryan Hickman We are now applying clutter suppression to the PTYPEd Radar Mosaic product. We will be expanding this code to the other mosaic products as soon as MRMS becomes available.
